Falling in Love with Fabric!
Love was the beginning of my artistic fabric-based journey. This special textile is a delightful marriage of two extremely different materials, the plush sheen and sexuality of velvet woven gracefully into the warp and woof of the loosely entwined beige linen in the background. Combined they are one glorious pattern! Collage was not a familiar artistic method to me. This magnificent material forced me to engage in a new journey and explore visual adventures using a lavish new media. This fabric became the inspiration and theme as I became awe-struck in my effort to create beautiful, elegant and unique art with this fabric. I have discovered multiple new pictorial ideas. Sometimes fragments of my prior work are incorporated to enhance the variety of color and texture, emphasizing the richness of the image.
